Our industry is being put through a trying time. Dealers that have been selling cars and servicing their communities for decades are being told that their efforts are appreciated but no longer needed. Certain manufacturers are forced to realize that past decisions have put them in this situation and cannot continue to ignore them. This affects all of us now. Our taxes kept these companies afloat for a few more laggard months until the plug was finally pulled. I say let the free markets correct themselves and stop letting the government run our businesses. We in the industry know what needs to happen better than they do. I hope that when the dust clears of this restructuring storm that those lost in the dust find their way.
As with most industries, this is a cyclical business with ups and downs. We can look at this as a restructure and start moving forward. The biggest thing now is to not waste anymore time or money and begin the hike uphill. It will help for every company to bring this style of thought home. Start with a great product and phenomenal service so the consumers can see value.
Value... What a great virtue! People are motivated to action when Value exceeds Price!
